Let’s talk about 💰 today 😏.

When I first started my piano studio in NYC in 2007, I had some clients who did not pay me on time. A handful of them even delayed their payments for three months 😱 with no guilt or shame. When they finally paid after several email notifications, they did not even apologize–their attitudes were as if they did me a favor 😡!

They made me feel powerless over my livelihood and worthless as a piano teacher, especially because I was traveling to their homes, rain (or snow!) or shine, at that time.

But over time, as I gained more experiences as a teacher and business owner, I discovered a few ways that helped me solve the problem:

1️⃣  Write a clear studio policy and sent it to clients at the beginning of each school year.

2️⃣  Make it easy for clients to pay you.

3️⃣  Establish solid and meaningful teacher-client relationships with them over time.

Have you ever experienced any late payments by your clients before, or are you currently going through this situation? Let me know via email at info@yukimisongstudio.com–I am happy to give you more tips!
