New and Hopeful School Year of 2020-2021 💝

Dear Students, Parents, and Friends of Yukimi Song Studio,

Hope you had a safe and restful summer.  The last few months have been quite busy planning and developing new ideas and adventures at Yukimi Song Studio. I am thrilled to announce our 2020-2021 season, which will include our customary student lessons and events online in addition to our brand new podcast shows (yes, two shows!), our newly upgraded website, and other exciting events at YSS!

New Season in New Style đŸŽ”

Throughout the summer, I have worked with a web designer to upgrade my studio’s website and logo to reflect the personality and energy of the studio. We are still working to implement the “Student Login” function, which will allow students to re-schedule easier, check-in with their homework and progress, etc. The estimated completion date is by October 1. Hope you like the new design at https://yukimisongstudio.com!

đŸ’» Virtual đŸŽč Lessons and đŸŽ¶ Events

For the safety of our students and their family members, we will continue to have one-on-one piano lessons and fun piano events such as December Piano Recital and monthly piano repertoire classes remotely until December 2020. We hope to be able to return to our regular lessons by 2021 but have plans in place in case we have to continue to meet online. The times ahead will require patience and flexibility from all of us, and the last six months taught us to deal with challenges in ways we could never have imagined before. I am SO confident that we are ready and will have a very successful season!

🎙Podcast Show #1: Conversations with a Piano Student

In June 2020, Yukimi Song Studio launched a podcast show, “Conversations with a Piano Student.” It is a series of interviews with piano students who are currently taking lessons or have studied piano at Yukimi Song Studio. In each episode, we feature a student who has made quite a progress on the piano, present the stories of their piano journey, and showcase their talent.

We have already published two episodes, and the third episode is to be released soon!

To catch up the 1st and 2nd episodes:

Special Episode: Conversations with a Piano PRO!

To celebrate the back-to-school month, the special edition of our “Conversations with a Piano Student” show, “Conversations with a Piano Pro!” will be published and premiered on our YouTube channel (https://bit.ly/2FwNKp2) on Monday, 9/14/2020, at 7:00 pm (EST)! We will also live-stream the video on our Facebook page (https://bit.ly/3ioNB5V) on Tuesday, 9/15/2020, at 7:00 pm (EST)!

Our special guest for this episode is Jennifer Chiaramonte, who is a pianist and piano teacher based in NYC, and has been the top salesperson in the East Coast of Steinway and Sons!  She graciously agreed to interview from the showroom of Steinway! She will show the inside of the Steinway showroom exclusively for the viewers and listeners and will explain to us the wonders of Steinway pianos.  She may have a little surprise at the end of the show. Even if you cannot make it for the premier or live-stream, you can watch this episode later on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, so be sure to follow Yukimi Song Studio’s social media accounts: https://linktr.ee/yukimisongstudio!

🎙Podcast Show #2: The Piano Pod

The Piano Pod is a monthly podcast created and hosted by three pianists and teachers from NYC: Yukimi Song, Eric Hunter, and Clara Zhang. The goals for this show are to examine the traditions of the piano and help to expand what it is capable of in the modern era. To this end, each month we interview a guest speaker who has been breaking exciting new ground in the industry.

In the first episode, which was published and live-streamed last week, The Piano Pod interviews Dr. Jon Skidmore, co-author of Conquer Anxiety: How to Overcome Anxiety and Optimize Your Performance.  An expert in the field of performance-related anxiety, his Five Stages of Peak Performance contain a comprehensive strategy for dealing with nerves and optimizing performances both in music and elsewhere in life. If you missed the live-streamed episode, you can watch or listen to it on:
