FEB 12: 100-Day Practice Challenge Has Begun!
To coincide with the Lunar New Year, I have started a 100-day practice challenge with my friends and colleagues! Well, we are having a virtual piano recital on May 21, so we have started an intense practice since Wednesday (day 1), and today is Day 3! I recorded a few mini clips of my practice. In this video, I am practicing Brahms Piano Sonata in F minor (1st movement)!
I am not from China, so I did not grow up following the lunar calendar. But I am using this opportunity to count blessings and reevaluate and reset my new year resolutions.

FEB 14: Happy Valentine’s Day!

Well, I spent my day doing yoga, pilates, 3-mile power walking, and of course, practicing piano! As I am preparing for the joint piano recital with my friends/colleagues, I can’t skip a day till the day of the event on May 21!
So far, I am prepping to do Brahms Sonata in F minor and My Favorite Things from the Hollywood Movie, “The Sound of Music” arr. by Steven Hough.

My recent go-to album by @fredericchiu is “Hymns & Dervishes: Music of Gurdjieff/De Hartmann”. I love to listen to it while she takes yoga 🧘🏻♀️ classes online daily. Yoga is a spiritual practice. Listening to this album while practicing yoga gives me such a deep and enriching experience. My inner self (spirituality) awakens as I breathe through asanas (poses) with Frederic’s performance to the legacy of Russian-Armenian mystic, George Gurdjieff.
